Description :: Responsible for developing, coordinating, executing, reviewing and reporting the environmental-related projects including carbon accounting and emission reduction, energy efficiency improvement, resource conservation projects on water, waste and packaging, as well as developing and implementing the management system for environmental, energy and carbon aspects.

Key Responsibilities
A. Management of environmental-related projects
1. The environmental-related projects include carbon accounting & emission reduction, energy efficiency improvement and resource conservation projects on water, waste (general waste and scheduled waste) and packaging.
2. Provide technical support in identifying, developing and implementing the environmental-related projects or programs.
3. Work on project feasibility (economically and technologically) study for project justification and management approval, including technology sourcing, evaluation and recommendation.
4. Coordinate and work closely with cross-function team to track, monitor and report the project progress against the set objectives, deliverables, budget and timeline.
5. Assist in project execution and monitor the project outcome against set targets.
6. Explore and apply for any government support (certifications, incentives or fundings) towards the project with project proposal.
B. Environmental performance measurement, monitoring and reporting
1. Identify environmental aspect and impact of the plant and developing the environmental data control and monitoring plan.
2. The environmental data includes utility/fuel consumption (electricity, water and fuel), pollution (carbon, stack emission, effluent discharge, stormwater, scheduled waste, general waste and soil) and packaging.
3. Develop and establish accurate data measurement and reporting from the field data measurement, computation, factors used and calculation.
4. Liaise and coordinate with external party for environmental testing (water, soil, air and waste).
5. Communicate with respective area owner for any significant deviation or outliers. Perform root cause analysis and propose corrective action plan.
C. Development of management system for environmental, energy and carbon
1. Perform gap analysis of existing documentation against the required by management system for environmental, energy and carbon.
2. Plan, develop and establish an adequate set of documentation to address the management system requirement.
3. Work and coordinate with respective section head to have the documents being developed and implemented.
4. Coordinate with external parties for consultation work including awareness training.
5. Liaison with certification body for necessary audit, assessments, corrective action and certification.
D. Environmental Compliance
1. Stay updated with environmental regulatory requirement and to comply with.
2. Responsible for mandatory reporting requirement by authority with relate to environmental aspect.
3. Assist in getting and maintaining environmental permits/licenses.
4. Perform regular site inspection and surveys for environmental compliances.
5. Assess potential environmental risks and develop mitigation/improvement plans to reduce environmental impacts.
6. Assist in environmental audits and implement audit recommendations.
E. Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Management, from time to time.
Requirements :: - Degree in environmental engineering or environmental science with at least two years working experience in material processing plants undertaking energy efficiency improvement projects.
