Description :: - This is a regional APAC position requiring an experienced individual to take a leading role in the day to to day customer facing support, planning, installation, configuration, development, deployment and implementation of the key Murphy Oil's Upstream IT Exploration and Development systems, databases and applications. This includes the primary products offered by Landmark and Schlumberger.
- Responsible to analyze and resolve end user application and hardware computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Responsible to provide assistance with enhanced customer workflow recommendations and provide end user training as required.
- Responsible to intended to minimize reliance on direct vender support and thereby reduce Murphy's costs.
- Responsible to keep current with technical application advances/upgrades and ensures users and team members are aware of these operational enhancements.
- Responsible assist Upstream users with workflow development and modifications.
- Responsible manage Windows/UNIX/Linux system and licenses to integrate with all Exploration, Development & Production applications/software's and forecast future needs.
- Responsible to maintain Upstream's current application workstations/server system and offer future alternatives.
Provide first level technical support and resolutions for Upstream system problems.
- Trouble-shooting of hardware, software and operating system problems, tracking of issues and resolutions, and issue escalation as needed.
- Responsible to be part of the Upstream System Support team to provide effective support to Exploration, Development and Production users throughout the APAC as well as be a part of a global support team.
Requirements :: - Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geosciences, Engineering or equivalent.
- Have experience in Supporting Geosciences application software products offered be such venders as Landmark, Paradigm or Schlumberger.
- At least 3 years experience in end user support environment providing technical support on Microsoft operating systems such as Windows 2000 and Windows XP and office applications.
- Preferable knowledge in Linux/UNIX and Windows system environment.
- Have the knowledge of the entire life cycle of Geosciences software acquisition and deployment.
- Excellent customer facing oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment, while taking responsibility for results.
