- • Supports the implementation of agreed initiatives related to curbing illicit cigarettes through various channels (Government, industry, internal cross-functional, regional) in order to create higher awareness of the illicit cigarettes issues amongst key stakeholders and encourage higher enforcement activities by Government authorities. To support the production of key reports where required
• Stakeholder mapping and Government Relations: Develops and maintains an up-to-date key political and regulatory stakeholder map.
• Corporate Communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English: Supports the production of company’s corporate communication materials, both on local and global requirements to ensure effective translations of key messages in local languages
• Corporate Philanthropy Programme: Supports the implementation of initiatives, in line with global guidelines, which would enable the company to ‘give something back to the community within which it operates’. This would also encompass Community Relations activities.
• General CA&C Activities and ReportingSupport key CA&C activities, including the production of periodic reports for the market, region and HQ where required in a timely manner
- Requirements :
- • Degree in Communications, Economics, Law or its equivalent
• Minimum 2-3 years in a similar role with multinational/FMCG exposure. No previous tobacco industry and/or Public Affairs consultancy experience is required but will be an added advantage. Possess an acceptable level of understanding of the workings of the Malaysian Government and business environment
• Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills. The ability to work effectively on a wide range of projects simultaneously and cross functionally.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of the nature and issues affecting the tobacco industry, and the operating business and regulatory environment within which the company operates.
• Capable of analysing and interpreting data and information to develop relative recommendations
