BARKATH CO-RO Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 7th October 1992. It is a joint venture company of equal shareholding between KUMPULAN BARKATH Sdn. Bhd.the local partner and CO_RO FOOD A/S.
Kumpulan Barkath is a Bumiputra Company involved in manufacturing, distribution, import and export of food and confectionery products for the last 58 years. It also manufactures the famous “HACKS†brand of sweets. Dato’ Hj. Barkath Ali is the Chairman of Kumpulan Barkath Sdn. Bhd.
Co-Ro Food A/S, a company founded in 1942, is involved in the manufacture of a wide variety of fruit-based beverages e.g. juice concentrates, ready to drink, ice-lolly, health drinks etc. It runs highly rated research & development laboratories to meet customers requirements. Co-Ro Food is also the brand owner of “SUNQUICK†fruit juice concentrate.
Sunquick has been marketed in Malaysia for the last 35 years. Initially, it was fully imported by Kumpulan Barkath Sdn. Bhd. An Exclusive Franchise was later granted to Kumpulan Barkath Sdn. Bhd. for local manufacturing at their plant in Mak Mandin. Due to ever increasing demand and insufficient capacity at the old plant; a newer, larger and fully automated manufacturing facility was proposed to meet this production challenge.
