- This position is for an engineering student intern interested in becoming a Technical Hardware Product Engineer that will be providing design engineering support for production build and design improvements of assigned Aerospace Display, Electrical Mechanical, Computer/Flight Control or RF products. This position will be located in Penang, Malaysia and will report to the Penang On-Site Engineering Manager. Other duties commensurate with a Technical Hardware Product Engineer position include:
• To complete, direct and coordinate the design engineering activities associated with assigned Aerospace products assuring completion of assigned PMI and sustaining programs, including value engineering, factory and customer support, parts obsolescence and reliability issues, staying within approved schedule and cost constraints and within established company policy, practice and procedures.
• Coordinate and manage project activities & coordination of design activities for all assigned products. This will require interface with the Core engineering team members located globally, including the United States.
Technical Hardware Product Engineer responsibilities:
• Coordinate with appropriate functions to identify, mitigate and work issues in order to deliver on commitments.
• Collaborate with the Production and Engineering teams on work activities at the Penang Facility.
• Manage team members and establish strong lines of communication with the employees. Disseminate information to the team, and champion change.
• Manage multiple projects to drive results, remove barriers, and maintain a bias for action.
• Be tactful, direct, and consistent in the handling of performance and technical issues.
• Promote a safe work environment; Ensure safe work practices are used through audits and active involvement with HSE.
• Promote positive employee relations.
• Demonstrate commitment and involvement in promoting employee safety. - Requirements :
- • In the process of completing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering or other related area required.
• Current GPA should be > 3.25 using a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
• Must currently be a student whose degree requirements are expected to be completed in 2014.
• Must have good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with other individuals in a team or project setting.
