Incorporated in 2006, Welley Timber Industries Sdn. Bhd. is located in Penang, Northern Malaysia. Welley is a growing manufacturer of hardwood plywood with a total investment of over $15,000,000 (US). Our 6 acres factory is operated by 500 well-trained, experienced employees and is equipped with state-of-the-art semi as well as fully automatic machines. Our team is proud to be able to produce at least 60,000 m2 of high quality hardwood plywood annually on top of 3million m2 of flooring boards.
Located in Northern Malaysia, gives us an added advantage because there are plenty of vast lands, thereby making the location strategic. Unrestricted space allows trees to grow without much competition for sunlight, water and air, thus resulting in healthier trees as the photosynthesis process is not interrupted. Rainforests in that region is also an abundant resource for excellent minerals.
As the market leader, we make sure its wood is as fresh as possible and avoid the usage of chemicals in processing and preserving them. This way, the quality of the wood can be assured. To further satisfy the market’s demand, Welley cooperates with the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) to conduct intensive studies on numerous tropical wood species in the hope of coming up with various different products of distinct quality.
Welley is a one-stop centre. Everything, from planting to logging, to processing as well as marketing of the wood products is conducted by us. All our products meet BS1088, BS6566, BS1455 and BS314 standards. To achieve optimal turnaround time for our customers, we continue to invest in new technologies and train our dedicated staff. We continue to further develop our production line and customer service team to ensure that requirements will be fulfilled in the most efficient, professional manner.
Although we are part of the timber industry, we make sure that we do our best to protect the Earth. We strive to ensure that there is a continuous supply of wood by adopting the practice of planting tree saplings in place of those that had been cut down. Only trees that are harvested legally are used and all these timbers are recognised under the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
