Description :
 Under the direction of Product Manager / Program Management, develops and implements the comprehensive strategy to continuously improve the reliability, manufacturability, functionality and profitability of automated IC test handling equipment.
 Serve as key point of contact for Product Management on assigned product line and assigned customers.
 New enhancement / feature introduction / development: o Engage customer for technical requirement and scope of works. Prepare functional specification, high level conceptual design and timeline prior development work. o Participate in design review, test plan review and alpha test result review. o Identify technical / schedule risk and prepare mitigation plan. Plan for new product / feature demonstration to customer. Ensure successful demonstration and specification fullfilment.
 Continous product improvement: o Collect and analyze product related data (performance, failure report and cost). Use statistical analysis method to identify key improvement area (manufacturability, reliability, performance and profit margin). o Engage with development group to drive improvement effort. Justify development effort with adequate ROI analysis. o Serve as escalation path for development group for technical issue from manufacturing and contractor.
 Customer technical escalation:
 Manage technical escalation thru initial technical analysis, site containment plan, cost impact analysis, internal and external updates until formal closure. o Identify additional support needed and drive resources to quickly and efficiently resolve technical escalations. o Engage escalated customers and site support team during the escalation. Lead internal and customer meetings to discuss status and drive actions.
 Develop and drive the communication plan with the escalated customer and the internal team. Identify and mitigate risk from product point of view.
 New product introduction: o Actively involve in technical training during early phase of transfer with development group. Coordinate with AME group to ensure smooth transition of new product into manufacturing. o Participate in customer demonstration with sales and support group. o Identify existing technical risk, prepare mitigation plan and drive development group to address the risk until closure. o Identify manufacturing quality and technical support risk, prepare mitigation plan and drive AME and technical support group to address the risk 
Requirements :
 Education: o Bachelor of Science / Engineering from an accredited college or university. Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or equivalent preferred. o M.Sc. / M.Eng. degree preferred.
 Experience: o Minimum of eight years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or five years with a Master’s degree in automated machine design. o Experience working in automation design with motorized system and mechanism design with automation / pneumatics parts are strongly preferred. Candidate with experience handling automated IC test handling equipment can be considered. o Experience managing cross-functional teams.
 Skills / Technical Requirements: o Knowledge of good engineering practices and the ability to follow existing guidelines and processes. Knowledge of complex equipment functionality and semiconductor test process. o Good understanding on thermal knowledge such as heat transfer and thermodynamics is a plus. o Knowledge of mean time between failure (MTBF), mean cycle before failure (MCBJ) failure modes and effect analysis (FMEA), overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), GPIB, SEC/GEM, cost of ownership (COO) and cost of test (COT) a plus but not required. o Solid data analysis and problem solving skills. Must have the ability to effectively present findings and recommendations. o Ability to self-motivate, work independently on projects and interface effectively with other teams members. Must be effective working with others and contribute to discussions and problem solving. Job Conditions / Physical Demands: Domestic and international travel required. May work in lab environment with constant or intermittent noise. Prolonged periods of sitting at the computer terminal. Protective Devices Required: In required areas. Supervisory Responsibility: Guide, lead and motivate project teams composed of multiple disciplines and levels of expertise; maintain effective communications and updates with remote employees and contractors.
