Description :: Prepares sealed bids and makes award recommendations.
Prepares Requests for Proposal, Requests for Qualifications and Requests for Information; evaluates submissions, and makes award recommendations, as requested by Supervisor.
Prepares reports on procurement activities as needed.
Conducts bid openings.
Administers compliance on awards, addendums, and notifications.
Assists with and trains employees on procurement, warehouse, and contract policies and procedures.
Oversees Purchasing and Warehouse operations for compliance.
Approves purchase orders.
Supervises staff and attends meetings in the absence of the Purchasing & Contracts Manager.
Administers the disposal of surplus property.
Requirements :: Diploma/Degree in Related Field
Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision.
Knowledge of general office procedures.
Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
Knowledge of purchasing principles and practices.
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws, regulations, policies and practices governing procurement.
Knowledge of supervisory practices.
Skill in purchasing and warehouse operations.
Skill in using computer and finance application software.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
