Description :: Product Development
• Management of R&D projects including investigation of standards and manufacturing practices, material design and specification
• Develop new products based on input from customers and sales team
• Review current product formulation and make necessary improvement in accordance with customer’s needs
• Ensure that formulation in the F1rstnet is up-to-date
• Creation of priorities for the product development
• On-going optimization of the product portfolio regarding quality and margin
Technical Support
• Technical Leadership on all internal & external matters
• Technical marketing of the product groups to support sales
• Timely response to sales team in customer enquiries
• Generate analysis report for samples from customers and competitors
• Provide input, training and literature to support the marketing and sales function
• Ensure timely and accurate follow up on customer complaints
• Timely and accurate on site customer trials conducted at customer facilities and reports submitted
• Review and update products technical datasheet and MSDS
• Issue compliant letter when requested by customers
• Provide product presentation for customers
Commercial
• Execute Quotes and Margin Expectations to Sales
• Support regarding price negotiations
• Manage and analyse low margin reports
Product Localization
• Plan and execute new product transfer to APAC
• Handle qualification and validation process
• Analyse and document trails sequences
• Support for optimization and products and processes
• On-going optimization
Rework of Rejected Stocks
• Timely monitoring of rejected stocks to reduce inventory and report in monthly management meeting
• Provide formulation for rework of rejected stocks
• Ensure finished goods are within Schulman specification after rework
Lab Management
• Oversee the operation of lab and improve its smoothness
• Increase competency of lab personnel by providing on-job training
• Review colorist’s work and providing feedback to colorist
• Take necessary disciplinary action on lab personnel in case of misconduct
• Ensure QC personnel are following the safety policy
Others
• Ensure on-time submission of mid-month report to General Manager and Regional Technical Manager
• Attend monthly management meeting as required
• Carry out any other duties commensurate with the job role
• Disciplinary and professional leadership of the product department

Requirements :: • Bachelor / Master degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineer, Science, Polymer or other relevant qualification with at least 5 years experience in Plastic Compounding, Film Blowing & Casting, Blow Molding, Injection Molding, Rotomolding, etc.
• Language : English, Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia, Chinese will be preferred
