Description :: - Responsible to Manage and make critical decisions on all aspects of supplier relationship including contacts, commercial/ pricing, supplier assurance and conflict resolution.
Develop and implement strategic sourcing processes to include:
- Supplier identification and development
- Includes setting up multiple suppliers (2nd and 3rd sources) for all parts prioritized by importance
- Risk assessment and management
- Supplier operational and technical capability
- Financial stability
- Capacity analysis and tracking to sub suppliers, etc.
- Understand and manage lead times
- Anticipate problems and disruptions.
- Supplier relations
- Understand supplier negotiating position and leverage.
- Invent negotiation strategies to secure lowest costs with least risk.
- Research and anticipate shifts in negotiating power of suppliers
- Build personal relationships with key suppliers
- Supplier ongoing assessment and evaluation – develop and implement performance metrics or report cards to include quality, delivery and customer service.
- Cost reduction targets and should-cost modeling for key components and commodities
Requirements :: - Minimum 6-8 years of direct procurement experience.
- Prior experience in Mechanical categories, especially for Plastics and Metal fabrication.
- Strong presentation and writing skills
- Effective team player committed to organizational goals; fostering collaboration among team members
- Demonstrate resourcefulness to effectively leverage and focus resources across organizational/geographic boundaries
- Understanding of market dynamics at a macro level and sound business judgement this person needs to be someone who grasps complex situations quickly and can offer effective strategies
- Project management and leadership skills
- Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
- Bilingual
- Willing to travel extensively
