1. Escalate any incidents that cannot be resolved within specified times frames to the relevant team.
2. Follow-up on escalations on unresolved issues.
3. Create documentation and record steps taken towards the resolution of an incident and add this to the knowledge database for future referral.
4. Actively manage, participate in, and suggest, projects to improve the environment.
5. Be the first point of contact for customers
6. Ensure efficient and effective flow of information between shifts during shift handovers.
7. Monitor the application systems using a variety of tools and react to resolve any alerts which may arise.
8. To monitor, track and any resolve issues in relation to the backup system.
9. To perform periodic Windows Update patches on the operating systems within the Environment.
10. Perform Level 1 troubleshooting according to the standard operating procedure.
11. Verify system and service availability.
 
Requirements :
1. Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
2. Communication skills - Be able to speak and write in basic English.
3. 1 – 2 years’ experience on WSUS (Windows update service), Nagios Monitoring and Symantec Backup Exec and technical support duties.
4. High attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Worked as part of a team to record, investigate and resolve any incidents ensuring that strict Service Level Agreements are met at all times.
6. Knowledge on DNS, networking is an added advantage.
7. Prior experience of working in an NOC is also an added advantage.
8. Possess self – initiative and able to work independently and collaboratively with people at various levels.
9. Ability to work 12 hour night or 12 hour day shifts as part of a 24/7 rotational shift.
