GENERAL DUTIES
Lecturers will be expected to contribute to the teaching effort of the academic unit to which he / she is attached and will undertake administration duties relating to his / her teaching. He / She will engage in research, contribute to publications, provide services to the academic unit / institution such as subject coordination and undertake professional activities outside of the institution. Members of staff are also encouraged to carry out scholarly activities to develop or enhance their teaching, research and / or professional expertise relevant to his / her profession or discipline area. Senior staff will provide assistance and support to junior staff in academic endeavors.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
Specific duties required of a lecturer may include:
• The preparation and delivery of lectures and presentations / seminar.
• The conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops & field excursions.
• Consultation with and supervision of students.
• Supervision of student assignments, project / research work.
• Marking and assessment of student work, assignments, projects, tests and examinations.
• Administer examination questions, examination sessions and mark answer scripts.
• Preparation of learning materials for students in the subjects.
• Subject coordination duties.
• Involvement in professional activities in the institution/ community.
• Performing extra-curricular activities, including counseling of students and promoting / marketing of programmes.
• Administrative / academic functions, especially those connected with subjects in the discipline or related disciplines pertaining to subjects taught e.g. attendances, invigilation, subject examinations, course evaluation and quality issues.
• Membership of various committees and attending meetings.
• Leadership or supporting role in educational activities in the academic unit.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Management of the College. 
Requirements :
An academic will normally be expected to hold a masters degree and / or professional qualification and / or professional experience that are recognized by the profession as having accreditation and standing equivalent to a master’s qualification in the relevant profession or discipline. However, a degree holder will also be accepted to teach the Advanced Foundation Programme, but emphasis will be given to teaching experience. In determining experience relative to qualification, consideration is given to previous performances and achievements in teaching, research, publications and academic / institutional / community services as well as professional contributions to industry and consultancies.
