Description :: - Manage the development, implementation, administration and management of the financial aid
- Approach and build rapport with financial institutions to establish financial aids or student loan schemes
- Participates in the development and implementation of ASB’s charge and financial aid policies and procedures including application, payments, collections and reports that will positively impact the efficiency and quality of service to internal and external stakeholders
- Provide advice and assistance to students with loans, grants, scholarships, and the financial aid application process and review applications to assure accurate and complete information
- Maintains appropriate documentation and record keeping of the financial aid via the use of spreadsheet, data entry system and any other suggested tools
- Assist with the production of the Student handbook and prepare information packs with relevant information for staff and students as required. To maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and security
- Conduct assessment of student needs including monitoring and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures
- Lead continuous professional development relevant to the role and in line with ASB policy and objective
- Interpreting, applying and complying for all regulations that govern the financial aid procedure of a student
- Actively promote our Vision and Values and strategic objectives
- Promote a learner-focused work ethic based on respect, problem solving and innovation and promote a ‘can-do’ culture throughout the school
- Actively contribute to planning, decision making and delivery of corporate objectives
- Maintain effective partnerships and relationships with both internal and external customers and other organisations
- Actively participates and if relevant conduct appraisals rigorously to deadline and prepare action plans for development
- Actively undertake continuing professional development relevant to your role and in line with ASB policy
Requirements :: - A degree in Finance and/or Accounting, Mathematics, Economics or relevant degree
- At least recent 3 to 5 years of work experience in a bursary of an institution of higher education and/or a financial institution with loans and collection experience
- Must possess excellent knowledge about various procedures of procuring financial aid
- Must be resourceful, with good analyzing skills with the ability to prioritize information including
ability to read, interpret and explain statistical data, technical procedures and governmental regulations
- Effective communication skills both oral and written as well as excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in reviewing and screening applications for financial aid when determining eligibility and evaluating special circumstances with confidentiality maintained at all time
