With more than 300,000 active members and 81 years of experience, the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) is the largest and most preferred emergency, breakdown and road assistance service provider in the country. The AAM provides 24-hour emergency and breakdown assistance nationwide, attending to approximately 300 cases per day and more than 100,000 breakdown calls per year. The AAM membership is open to all Malaysians. With 12 breakdown operation centres throughout the country, the AAM has a team of 250 highly qualified, dedicated and experienced servicemen ready to render assistance to our members 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. With a response time of between 10 and 50 minutes - depending on breakdown location and traffic situation – the AAM's fleet of road assist and emergency response vehicles consist of flatbed car carriers, tow trucks, patrol cars, pick-up trucks and vans. Motorcycle patrol units meanwhile, are designed to circumvent traffic jams and enable our rescue team to reach the scene of breakdown in the shortest possible time. The use of global positioning system (GPS) in all vehicles also enables the nearest response team to be dispatched to the location of the breakdown. Vehicles attending to on-the-spot minor repairs meanwhile, are not only equipped with essential tools but stock selected spare parts for the more common model vehicles.
