Description :: Tactical:-
- Responsible for policies/ procedures definition and implementation across all in-bound & out-bound logistics flow for Cohu Malaysia.
- Responsible for logistics negotiations and ensure providers meet all established criteria.
- Monitor and reporting of Logistics performance metrics.
- Define and implement Asian logistics scheme to optimise transportation cost, inventory level, while maintaning service level.
- Sourcing and selection of reliable local freight forwarders – coordinate with Procurement & Suppliers/ Customers for effective implementation.
- Define and implement shipping organization, process and standards, including packing standards, safety standards and forklift maintenance.
- Manage all issues related to customs regulations:
- Manage application and renewal of LMW & IPC license.
- Fulfill LMW & IPC requirements regarding customs clearance and
exemptions.
- Prepare and submit all necessary customs reports in compliance to
statutory requirements.

Operational:-
- Plan and supervise shipments while ensuring compliance with delivery planning, safety requirement and customs regulations.
- Liaise with internal departments, Customers, Suppliers, crating sub-contractor and freight forwarders to plan crating and shipments.
- Ensure completion of appropriate documentations (invoice, delivery documents, customs declaration required for import / export, insurance claim, etc).
- Follow up deliveries and launch corrective actions in case of transportation issue.
- On top of operational responsibilities, also responsible to lead and develop Logistic team, in terms of teamwork, discipline, accountability and integrity to ensure compliance to defined procedures and strategies.
- Any other adhoc assignment according to business needs.
Requirements :: - Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Advance Diploma in related field.
- At least 8 years’ experience in logistic activities.
- Good technical knowledge of custom rules and regulations.
- Experience working in equipment manufacturing industry is preferable.
- Knowledge of ERP System is an added advantage.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work under tight schedule and minimum supervision.
- Candidate must be willing to work in Melaka.
