- 1. Ensure that AUSP operations are in compliance to various government authorities’ regulations on environmental protection, health, safety and to AUSP's Safety Standard.
2. Must be able to take proactive action to implement immediate and effective corrective actions to eliminate safety hazards. Must be able to interact with upper management to direct and implement effective policies and procedures. Must demonstrate effective problem solving ability.
3. To lead in the investigation of accident/incident and EHS non-compliances thereafter to provide urgent responses to operational issues in the workplace through a systemetic approach using tools such as 8D/RCCA to see through that the cause of the accident is eliminated.
4. Lead in the periodic EHS site inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
5. Organise schedule for conducting CHRA, HIRAC, EHS Inspection, EHS Meetings, air-monitoring, chimney and LEV testing, medical surveillance, noise level mapping, audiometric testing and regulate the distribution of PPEs.
6. Carry out other work related to Environmental, Health & Safety and as instructed by the management or the relevant government regulatory agencies such as DOSH, Health Department, DOE, Fire Services Department and the local councils.
7. Coordinate, review and analyze the occupational health and hazard monitoring and risk assessment.
8. Conduct the Health and Safety committee meeting & follow up with action plan.
9. To provide technical support to manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, facility to develop sound EHS programmes, best practices, preventive/corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
10. Formulate/organize/conduct in-house training/practice programs on emergency response, fire fighting, chemical management, EHS procedures, first aid and etc. on a regular basis.
11. Work with cross functional teams to achieve EHS goals, programs and key performance indicators. - Requirements :
- 1. Related Engineering/Science/Occupational, Safety and Health Degree with at least 5 years working experience in the EHS/engineering field, preferably in MNC environment.
2. Preferably a Registered Safety and Health Officer with DOSH.
3. Registered Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) would be an added advantage.
4. Experience in operations, manufacturing or engineering environment.
5. Displays strong cultural leadership.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
1. Indepth knowledge in Management Systems such as ISO14001, OHSAS18001 & ISO9001.
2. Well versed with OSHA 1994 Act, Environment Quality Act 1974 and Factories Machineries Act 1967.
3. Good working knowledge in ERT, evacuation procedures, fire drills & fire prevention systems, tool/equipment safety, electrical safety, LOTO and related are required.
4. Good auditing skills with some experience in management system audits. Led team as lead/internal auditor.
5. Direct experience in developing and implementing Environmental, Health and Safety stewardship programmes.
6. Detailed knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety systems.
7. Practical hands on approach to contractor safety management.
8. Proficient communication skills in written and spoken English.
9. Computer literate with hands-on skills in Microsoft Office. - Lowest Qualification :
