Description :: • Knowledge of polymer, pigments & additives along with specific grades & their technical / regulatory specifications
• Creating unique, customized formulas of various dyes, pigments and resins to match Pantone or customer provided samples
• Work on critical databases to enhance the speed of color matching and pigment evaluations and generate spreadsheets for the required matches and optimize matches to be scaled up in the production environment
• Meet target number of color matching done per day
• Provide tracking, follow up and records for the color approval process
• Conduct pre-QC checking to ensure formulation is workable before production mixing process
• Give corrective formulation for rework whenever there is a reject
• Ensure finished goods are within Schulman specification before release to customer
• Ensure retained samples are kept in good condition and have good traceability
• Oversee the operation of color lab and improve its smoothness• Increase competency of lab technician by providing on-job training
• Take necessary disciplinary action on lab technician in case of misconduct
• Ensure lab technicians are following the safety policy
Requirements :: • SPM or other relevant qualification with at least 3 years relevant color experience
• Can communicate in English (written and spoken)
• Strong computer skills
• No color blind
• Able to work independently under little supervision
• Able to work under pressure and to meet commitments and deadlines
• Judgment and decision making skills
• Work closely with production team to maintain consistent quality
