Description :: ‘- Responsible for Design for Manufacturing & Assembly
- Address Complex Design Issues Impacting Production
- Technology Transfer to Contract Manufacturers and Melaka Production Facility
- Cost Reduction Activities (Material Costs/Cycle Time Reduction)
- Production process flow for optimal cycle times
- Drive manufacturing QID data improvement
- Define Manufacturing process, tools, test carts, procedures, etc. for NPI
- Train Key Suppliers for NPI (1st tier, 1st time), inclusive of Critical parts FAI
- Train Industrial & Manufacturing on NPI manufacturing process
- First line of technical support for suppliers during NPI
- Feedback requests to engineering for design improvements needed for manufacturability
- Engineering Change Order driver (redline, disposition, planning) – NPI focus
- Technical Failure Analysis (together with Engineering)
- Engineering FAI (as required) in case of 2nd source Suppliers
- EOL approval for OEM parts & design changes (test as required)
Requirements :: Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline is required. Advanced technical degree is preferred but not required.
Experience:
The position requires seven or more years of progressive experience in machine design in a mechanical, manufacturing engineering or other engineering discipline. This position requires at least five additional years of leadership experience in the semiconductor equipment industry or related industry serving in a technical engineering role, with strong product deployment experience. Experience in machine design and advanced manufacturing engineering required.
Skills/Technical Requirements:
Must be extremely proficient at working with a global management team. The role requires solid communication, influencing, relationship development, excellent judgment, project management, and organizational skills. Must have detailed technical and engineering knowledge of the product development process. Must have exceptional capability to analyse and interpret technical data from various sources and translate into clear, actionable strategies.
Travel:
This position is based in Melaka with some travel through Asia, Europe and the Americas, Europe and Asia, up to 25% annually.
