Description :: The search for references in the databases, to make summary reports based on the literature inputs
Together with the Scientific Manager, the design of purification methodology for known and unknown natural products
Production, isolation and characterization of natural, semi-synthetic and synthetic compounds
The compilation of the experimental project plan
The scheduling of the experimental work for yourself
The execution of preparative experiments (HPLC) and analytical experiments such as liquid chromatography coupled to different types of detectors (MS, UV, PDA and ELSD detectors) as well as gas chromatography
Full structural characterization of known and unknown compounds using 1D, 2D, C13 NMR, IR, MS and HPLC
The execution of the following techniques such as dry mass determination, freeze drying, SpeedVac concentration, crystallization, IR spectrometry, ion exclusion chromatography and thin layer chromatography (TLC)
The follow up of the daily work and the review of experimental reports from the technician
The periodic reporting, to the Scientific Manager, of the project progress, with respect to experimental results and intermediate conclusions
The final reporting of the project with integration of all analytical results and final conclusions
The experimental redesign and trouble shooting in case of analytical issues
Overall daily responsibility of lab infrastructure and organization
Requirements :: Profound knowledge of several analytical and preparative chromatographic techniques such as those mentioned in the job description
Experience with structural characterization techniques including but not limited to: NMR, IR, MS
Team player who is able to work independently: plan, organize and prioritize work
Experience in working under a quality system (GLP)
Strong communication skills, verbal and written in English
Attention to detail and traceability in practical work and reporting
Good trouble shooting skills
MS Office skills
