- -Responsible in ensuring that the Combined Cycle Power Plant is operated in a safe, efficient, and timely manner in accordance with established operational guidelines to meet output requirements.
-Manage the deployment of operational resources on shift to meet dispatch requirements.
-Ensure unit performance is closely monitored, and maximum unit efficient is maintained in operation.
-Ensure plant reliability, and availability targets are met through continual reviewing and monitoring of performance.
-Ensure all system, plant, and equipment defects are identified, reported and rectified.
-Manage generating unit operations and maintenance activities. Examine and inspect work progress and equipment to verify safety, while ensuring that specifications are met.
-Issue ‘Permits to Work’ and ‘Permits to Run’, including certification for Hot Work promptly.
-Carry out HV switching or isolation/normalization in conjunction with PSO and authorized Electrical HV engineers for HV works.
-Monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment in order to detect and pre-empt unsafe conditions, or violation of procedures and/or safety rules.
-Ensure proper training and assessment of new workers.
Communicate with PSO on operation non-conformances, permission to synchronize or de-synchronize units, etc. Enter into market, on exception, bidding computer to amend load and capacity offer.
-Prepare daily shift log reports and all other operational reports, i.e. trip reports for PSO.
-Liaise with external agencies (e.g. Power System Operator, Singapore Civil Defence Force, National Environment Agency, PowerGrid for High Voltage work in the Switch house) on all operation matters during their shift duty.
-Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor. - Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent qualifications, with good working knowledge of steam, gas turbines, as well as safety, and statutory requirements.
Candidates should ideally possess at least eight (8) years of relevant experience, of which five (5) years are at a supervisory level, preferably in Power Plants or related industries.
Those with 1st Grade Engineer (Steam) Certificate of Competency, or 1st Grade Engineer (Steam Combustion Engine) Certificate of Competency awarded by Ministry of Manpower are highly favoured. - Lowest Qualification :
