The Hock Star Group of Companies was started in 1979 as Hock Star Engineering and Trading Co. by Bruce Kuah and Thomas Kwa. Its core business then was general construction and the supply of labour. Hock Star Multi Tech was started in 1996 to bring about further enhancement to the group in terms of project management, labour recruitment and skills specialization especially in the area of Curtain Wall and Cladding. Hock Star Private Limited was finally set up in 2016 as the main company to combine both company resources along with more technical and project management personnel to successfully deliver quality projects efficiently.
Hock Star has grown from strength to strength over the decades partnering some of the best in the region such as Diethelm Keller (projects such as Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2, Singapore Management University), Mero Asia Pacific (eg. Esplanade Theatre on the Bay, Haig Court etc), Merdeka Construction (eg. The Sail @ Marina Bay).
Hock Star’s projects also include Glass and Aluminum Works at The ICON @ Tanjong Pagar, Glass and Aluminum Installation at Changi Airport Terminal 2, Roofing Façade Works at Marina Bay Sands, and Structural Works at Marina Bay Sands.
The Architectural Wet-Trade Team of Hock Star was set up in 2009. Hock Star has since completed projects ranging from public infrastructure, Housing Development Board Singapore projects, private developers’ housing, Ministry of Education (Schools) and have always prided itself in timely completion of the projects with quality.
