Description :: • Overall responsibility for Purchasing and cost estimating activities across the business.
• Create and implement best practices for purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedure to aid and improve business performance.
• Ensure that purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets.
• Responsible for managing relationships and negotiating with key suppliers at a senior and strategic level.
• Develop, implement and maintain a supplier relationship and evaluation process to measure effective supplier performance and compliance.
• To lead and manage Purchasing department to improve the level of performance and quality and oversee daily operation of Purchasing Department.
• Provide leadership to department. Coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.
• Set department objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance.
Requirements :: • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or equivalent.
• At least 8 years manufacturing experience and 5 years in managerial role.
• Knowledge in paper product is an added advantage.
• Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
• Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
• Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High degree of integrity.
• Required language(s) : English, Mandarin and/or Bahasa Malaysia.
• Candidates fluent in Mandarin is a must as role requires candidate to deal with mandarin speaking supplier.
