- • Direct report to Senior Merchandising Manager, a Retail Merchandising Analyst helps maximize the profit potential for the retail chain. By analyzing products risks and opportunities, and implementing inventory allocation strategies, the Merchandising Analyst improves sales productivity and increases profit margins.
• A Merchandising Analyst streamlines the flow of merchandise through the outlets by providing the organization with analysis, allocation, and guidance.
• Analysis responsibilities include monitoring store category sales, supervising inventory stock
days, identifying trends, and monitoring the timing and scope of seasonal changes
• The retail store or organization also looks to the merchandising analyst to provide guidance about selling patterns, the timing of future purchases, and purchasing philosophies.
• Allocation responsibilities include maintaining desired inventory levels and assortments, Works
directly with Suppliers, Merchandising Analysts develop supply strategies that will minimize stock outs while maximizing inventory turns.
• Ensure that all analysis are constantly and accurately updated
• Optimizing the sales volume and profitability of designated stores.
• Taking action to implementing or set high standards as necessary;
• Source for top and the best method in market and make recommendation;
• Managing, training and supervising staff;
• As per Company’s Authority Limits.
- Requirements :
- • A blend of merchandising and data analysis experience are desirable for a Merchandising Analyst. Significant analytical experience and computer proficiency with programs like MS Excel and/or Access are essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also necessary. Organization, creative problem-solving, and a continuous improvement mentality are key qualities for success in this career.
• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is preferred. Other degrees or no degree at all are sometimes acceptable with a combination of retail, buying, and allocation experience.
• Diploma / Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent;
• At least 2 years working experience in the related environment;
• Proficient in English and Malay;
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision;
• Result-oriented, strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Independent, aggressive, outgoing, good public relations and pleasant personality.
